Meet the team
David is one of the owners of the company, together with his wife Lynette. In 1996 the decision was made to start a new Funeral Home in Masterton, - the beginnings of David Dew Funeral Services. Since that time it has been David’s vision to expand the services of the company to create a comprehensive funeral and memorial service in Masterton. David began his Funeral Services career in 1987, and has gained nationally recognised qualifications in embalming and funeral directing. For three years David was the Tutor for Funeral Service education based at The Central Institute of Technology, running the courses for embalmers and funeral directors to become qualified in the industry. David is now a moderator of education for the industry, which keeps him involved on a national level. David is the Vice Chairman of the Wellington District Funeral Directors Association, which takes an interest in matters concerning funeral directors in the region.
David currently is involved in all aspects of the running of the Funeral Home, but more particularly funeral arranging, embalming, and headstone design.
David has recently taken up non competitive cycling, and enjoys rides out into the outskirts of Masterton, and looks forward to being fit enough to go further afield.
