Financial AssistanceWINZ GRANTS
For any person whose estate is unable to meet the total cost of funeral expenses a Funeral Grant to a maximum of $1,820 may be available from Income Support.
A Childs Funeral Grant, again from Income Support to a maximum of $1,820 (The child's parents are asset tested)
David Dew Funeral Services has WINZ funeral grant forms, and is able to assist in completing them with you.
ACC PAYMENTS
When someone dies due to an accident their funeral costs (up to a maximum of $5273 ) could be covered by ACC. Spouse and Dependent Children also can be entitled to ACC payments.
David Dew Funeral Services is able to assist you in claiming ACC funeral grant payments.
* Please note only one grant, WINZ or ACC can be applied for.
EX SERVICES
Ex Service Personnel who are registered with the NZ or Allied Forces are eligible for a plot in the designated services area at the local Masterton Cemetery at no charge. Interment fees for burial (or ashes burial) still apply at the current council rate. The standard bronze services plaque is available at no charge to the family as long as the plaque is placed in the Masterton or Riverside Park Cemeteries
